Role Description:

The Asset Manager will be integral in overseeing the operational and financial aspects of our renewable energy contracts, ensuring alignment with our corporate sustainability goals. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and global energy markets to optimize our renewable energy initiatives and foster strategic commercial relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a large portfolio of wholesale renewable energy contracts.
  • Develop strategies to optimize energy procurement and support Microsoft’s carbon-neutral objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with energy suppliers and key industry players.
  • Analyze market trends to inform procurement strategies and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and corporate sustainability commitments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate renewable energy solutions into Microsoft’s global operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the energy sector, focusing on renewable energy and power market dynamics.
  • Proven experience in managing Power Purchase Agreements and navigating the energy regulatory landscape.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the energy sector, particularly with solar PV, wind, or other renewable technologies.
  • Extensive experience in managing virtual power purchase agreements (VPPAs) and other financial instruments in energy markets.
