About the Role

Meta’s Global Energy Team is expanding and seeks an Energy Manager (APAC) to drive the clean and renewable energy supply strategy for its growing fleet of data centers in the Asia Pacific region. In this role, you will develop, negotiate, and execute energy supply solutions, ensuring cost-competitive renewable energy procurement that aligns with Meta’s sustainability goals.

If you have experience in utility-scale renewable energy development in APAC, expertise in negotiating complex agreements, and a passion for accelerating clean energy adoption, this role is perfect for you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and negotiate new renewable energy supply opportunities to support Meta’s data center operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sustainability, legal, tax, engineering, and finance) to implement clean energy strategies.
  • Manage relationships with key energy suppliers, developers, regulators, and utilities.
  • Engage in regulatory processes, influencing clean energy policies and supply solutions.
  • Analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and technical developments to optimize renewable energy sourcing.
  • Support the APAC data center site selection process by evaluating energy availability and costs.
  • Oversee commercial negotiations for carbon reduction and renewable energy transactions.
  • Travel domestically and internationally (10-20%) to manage energy projects and partnerships.

Required Qualifications

βœ… Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility, or a technical field.
βœ… 8+ years of experience in renewable energy project development & acquisition within APAC.
βœ… Strong financial modeling experience for renewable energy projects.
βœ… Proven ability to negotiate power purchase agreements (PPAs) & contracts.
βœ… Experience working with utilities, regulators, and corporate energy buyers.
βœ… Understanding of grid interconnection processes & energy infrastructure development.
βœ… Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders across time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

βœ” MBA or J.D. is a plus.
βœ” Experience with carbon reduction and emissions offset projects.
βœ” Familiarity with clean energy financing and policy advocacy.
