Job Title: Energy Manager (Clean and Renewable Energy)

Location: Remote

Salary: $188,000 – $256,000 per year

Role Description:

The Energy Manager will lead the development and implementation of Meta’s clean and renewable energy strategy, focusing on securing innovative energy solutions for our global data center operations. This role requires a deep understanding of renewable energy project development, financial modeling, and regulatory environments, ensuring Meta’s energy procurement supports our sustainability goals and operational needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sourcing and negotiation of renewable energy projects (wind, solar, storage) to meet Meta’s operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability initiatives with business operations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with energy suppliers, developers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Influence and participate in regulatory discussions to shape future energy supply solutions.
  • Manage multiple energy projects, ensuring compliance with financial and technical specifications.
  • Stay abreast of market and regulatory trends to advise on potential impacts and opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sustainability, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in renewable energy project acquisition and contract negotiation.
  • Proven ability to develop financial models and conduct due diligence for large-scale energy projects.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with utility and grid interconnection processes.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (10% to 20%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or J.D. degree.
