AltGen, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an experienced Solar Site Supervisor to manage operations at a Solar PV Plant in the Northern Cape. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in solar PV operations and a commitment to advancing renewable energy initiatives.

Role Description:

As a Solar Site Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations at our Solar PV Plant, ensuring all activities align with our client’s strategic goals. Your leadership will ensure the plant operates efficiently, safely, and sustainably, contributing to the broader renewable energy goals of the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and ensure all plant equipment undergoes timely maintenance and repair.
  • Monitor maintenance activities in line with environmental health and safety requirements.
  • Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on plant equipment.
  • Compile and submit detailed reports on maintenance activities and plant operations.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and manage the site’s team leaders.
  • Coordinate with the HSE team to conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Manage and resolve any site-related disputes or grievances.

Education Requirements:

  • Electrical Trade Certificate (mandatory).
  • ORHVS certificate (advantageous).

Experience Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a site supervisor within a solar PV environment.
  • Strong technical understanding and ability to communicate complex concepts.
  • Familiarity with HSE practices and OSHA/OHRVS regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing large teams.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems and HSE regulations.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work weekends and public holidays as needed.

Additional Notes:

  • Preference will be given to candidates from the Khai-Ma Municipal District to support local talent.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
