ENGIE North America is expanding its renewable energy workforce and is seeking a Traveling Solar Technician to support solar, wind, & battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Texas and surrounding regions. This role focuses on commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining renewable energy assets while ensuring safety compliance & operational excellence.

Your Responsibilities

πŸ”Ή Renewable Energy Maintenance & Troubleshooting

βœ” Perform preventative & corrective maintenance on solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
βœ” Troubleshoot high-voltage (HV) substations, SCADA systems, and electrical components.
βœ” Conduct inspections, commissioning, & equipment testing to optimize energy production.

πŸ”Ή Safety & Compliance

βœ” Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, & industry safety standards.
βœ” Perform Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), & risk assessments.
βœ” Actively participate in ENGIE’s Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) Program.

πŸ”Ή Operational Support & Reporting

βœ” Work with SCADA, CMMS, & SAP software for troubleshooting & monitoring.
βœ” Coordinate HV switching, curtailments, & site inspections.
βœ” Maintain accurate records & work orders for all field activities.

πŸ”Ή Travel & Field Work

βœ” 70% domestic travel required to support various renewable energy sites.
βœ” Must be able to travel nationally at short notice for emergency maintenance.
βœ” Work in extreme weather conditions, confined spaces, & at heights.


What You’ll Bring

🎯 Required Qualifications

βœ” Technical Diploma or Trade School Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy. (Equivalent military or field experience accepted.)
βœ” 2+ years of experience in solar, wind, BESS, or utility-scale power plants.
βœ” Experience with HV equipment, substation POI, & SCADA systems.
βœ” Valid driver’s license & clean driving record.
βœ” Ability to pass background checks & pre-employment drug screening.

βœ” Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
