ENGIE North America is expanding its renewable energy workforce and is seeking a Traveling Solar Technician to support solar, wind, & battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Texas and surrounding regions. This role focuses on commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining renewable energy assets while ensuring safety compliance & operational excellence.

Your Responsibilities
πΉ Renewable Energy Maintenance & Troubleshooting
β Perform preventative & corrective maintenance on solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
β Troubleshoot high-voltage (HV) substations, SCADA systems, and electrical components.
β Conduct inspections, commissioning, & equipment testing to optimize energy production.
πΉ Safety & Compliance
β Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, & industry safety standards.
β Perform Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), & risk assessments.
β Actively participate in ENGIE’s Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) Program.
πΉ Operational Support & Reporting
β Work with SCADA, CMMS, & SAP software for troubleshooting & monitoring.
β Coordinate HV switching, curtailments, & site inspections.
β Maintain accurate records & work orders for all field activities.
πΉ Travel & Field Work
β 70% domestic travel required to support various renewable energy sites.
β Must be able to travel nationally at short notice for emergency maintenance.
β Work in extreme weather conditions, confined spaces, & at heights.
What Youβll Bring
π― Required Qualifications
β Technical Diploma or Trade School Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy. (Equivalent military or field experience accepted.)
β 2+ years of experience in solar, wind, BESS, or utility-scale power plants.
β Experience with HV equipment, substation POI, & SCADA systems.
β Valid driverβs license & clean driving record.
β Ability to pass background checks & pre-employment drug screening.
π‘ Passion for renewable energy & safety-focused work ethic is essential!

β Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, & work at heights.
β Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
β Willingness to travel & work flexible shifts, including nights & weekends.
